Disrespect of waiter -highly objected by hotel authorities!
A guest at the Taj hotel in Agra slapped a waiter, and the owner’s response is winning hearts online.
Paritosh Ladhani, Joint Managing Director of SLMG Beverages, whose group owns the Taj Agra property, shared the incident on LinkedIn. The waiter, Kanti, was serving a guest at the hotel restaurant. He couldn’t speak English fluently, a miscommunication followed, and the guest slapped him.
Kanti didn’t complain or report it. When Ladhani asked why, Kanti said he comes from a poor farming family in a small village near Agra. Working at the hotel is his dream, and he didn’t want to risk it. Ladhani wrote that the answer broke his heart.
The very next day, the guest was blacklisted from the property for life, and the ban still stands. “As a leader, I don’t care how wealthy you are, how influential you are, or how much you spend at our hotel,” Ladhani wrote. “ABSOLUTELY NO ONE has the right to disrespect someone from my team.”
His message for every business owner: “If our employees are afraid to stand up for their dignity, it’s OUR responsibility to stand up for them!”
The guest’s identity has not been made public. Respect isn’t something money can buy. 🙏✊
