Mumbai’s skyline is getting a new dimension — imagine gliding over the trees of Aarey Colony straight into the heart of Film City, Mumbai in minutes. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) has proposed an ambitious 2–3 km rope-way link connecting the Aarey-JVLR Metro station with Film City (and possibly extending to Sanjay Gandhi National Park).
With capacity estimated at 2,000-3,000 passengers per hour, per direction, it’s set to slash travel time, ease the infamous Goregaon-Mulund traffic, and boost both commuting ease and tourism in one go.
