Americans STILL think your late 20s are the "ideal" age to get married and start a family. A 2025 Pew Research Center survey found that Americans most commonly picked 27 as the ideal age to get married and 28 as the ideal age to have a first child. But there's a shift happening. More people are prioritizing financial stability, career goals, and simply feeling ready before taking those major life steps. The timeline may be changing - but the late 20s are still seen by many as the "sweet spot."
