Birds find new ways to live in the spikes!

People have seen pigeons making nests right on top of anti-bird spikes. Those spikes are put on ledges and roofs to stop birds from landing. Instead of leaving, pigeons bring twigs, leaves, and small bits of trash and lay them across the spikes. Bit by bit, they cover the sharp points and create a flat, safe spot to sit and make a home. Watching them do this shows how the birds solve problems. They do not give up when something in the city gets in their way. Pigeons try different materials and arrangements until the nest holds together. Their steady work and small adjustments prove they can work around human-made barriers. This behavior is a simple sign of how well animals can adapt to city life. People put up spikes to keep birds away, but the birds find new ways to live in the same spaces. That can make us think about better ways to share places with wildlife, or it can remind us to respect the clever, persistent nature of urban animals.
