Temple with longest corridor!
What can be more beautiful than sitting in the lap of multi millennial old rich civilization! Be proud, extremely proud that you are lucky enough to be born in this land.
Ramanathaswamy Temple located on Rameshwaram Island, Tamil Nadu, is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples of Shiva.
The temple has the longest corridor among all Hindu temples in India. The presiding deity, the Lingam of Ramanathaswamy (Shiva), was established and worshiped by Rama before crossing his bridge to Lanka, during his war with King Ravana.
The temple was expanded during the 12th century by Pandya dynasty, and its principal shrines sanctum were renovated by Jeyaveera Cinkaiariyan and his successor Gunaveera Cinkaiariyan of the Jaffna kingdom, Sri Lanka
