Improve mobility of hips & ankles!

Sitting for hours every day can make your hips and ankles feel stiff. One simple movement worth practicing is the deep squat. A deep resting squat requires your hips, knees, and ankles to work together through a wide range of motion. Practicing it regularly may help improve lower-body mobility, flexibility, balance, and movement control. Your ankles need enough flexibility to allow your knees to move forward, while your hips and surrounding muscles help maintain a comfortable position. If you’re a beginner, don’t force yourself into a deep position immediately. Start with 20–30 seconds while holding a sturdy support. You can also place a small support beneath your heels if ankle mobility is limited. Gradually increase your time as your comfort and mobility improve. You don’t need to hold a squat for 30 minutes to benefit from practicing it. Remember, consistency matters more than duration. Regular movement, gentle mobility exercises, and less uninterrupted sitting can all contribute to healthier movement. Your goal isn’t to force flexibility. It’s to help your body move comfortably and confidently.
