Japan To Buy Iranian Oil Using Chinese Yuan !
Tsunami News ! - Japan To Buy Iranian Oil Using Chinese Yuan ! Fatal Blow To The Petrodollar ! Welcome To The Petroyuan !
Reports suggest that Japan has struck a deal with Iran to buy Iranian oil using the Chinese yuan! This will allow the vessels carrying the oil to pass the Strait of Hormuz without paying tolls.
This is the most important development for an alternative currency to the petrodollar which underpins much of America’s prosperity and wealth. It was the Saudis many decades ago who decided that buyers had to use the American dollar to purchase Saudi oil. That started the petrodollar, which became the default currency for the oil trade. It is also a major reason why the American dollar is the reserve currency of the world. The reserve currency is the bedrock of American global financial dominance all these decades.
The Gulf countries use the American dollars they earn from selling oil to invest in the American stock market. Much of the AI boom has been fuelled by Arab money. Now with AI centres having been targeted by Iranian missiles in the Gulf, and with many Gulf countries reappraising their investments in America, it is crunch time for the American dollar. And the advent of the petroyuan adds to the headache for the Americans.
The fact that Japan, one of America’s staunchest allies and the linchpin to American supremacy in the Indo-Pacific could have taken such a step, is truly earth-shattering! That is why I am terming it Tsunami News and not just Breaking News. It is one of those events which will change your lives and your children’s lives profoundly in the decades to come.
This move also shows the pragmatism of the Japanese. For them energy security for their nation comes first regardless of friends or alliances. They do not stand blindly on principles but will do everything to protect their interests firsts! This is a Japan First move, make no mistake about it !
Japan’s move to use the yuan, the currency of its bitter rival, the Chinese, also has major consequences for the Indo-Pacific security equation. To me, it is a major sign of Japan hedging its bets and realising that America may not be a reliable partner when it comes to their security and the security of East Asia. This stems from the calamitous defeat of America in the Iran war.
Next, let us see how the South Koreans, Philippines, Australia and Taiwan react. Will they follow the example of the Japanese? The South Koreans have already sent a special envoy to negotiate with the Iranians for oil.
