Obsidian Bridge!
Obsidian Bridge: a glass tube suspended over the abyss
When the house ceases to be a shelter and becomes a catwalk, an architecture that is vertigo and contemplation is born.
A volume of textured concrete black joins two rocky outcrops, casting a glass corridor over the waterfall. There are no walls: there's a transparent tunnel with a glass floor and ceiling that turns vacuum into pavement. The dark mass is anchored in volcanic stone, the warm wooden soffit contrasts with the rough texture, and punctual interior light guides the step. Below, the river and the forest follow their course; above, the inhabitant floats. Every glass joint disappears so that nature is the structure.
Material: pigmented concrete black + floor to ceiling structural glass + glass floor + wood on ceiling + site stone as base. The contrast is brutal and poetic. The black gives weight and silence, the glass gives total weightlessness, the flying gives drama, the water gives sound and movement. Here luxury is the exhibition: crossing the canyon without touching it so that the waterfall is the hall.
