Octopus city!
Scientists have discovered an underwater octopus city off the coast of Australia called Octlantis - and it's wild.
Octopuses are supposed to be solitary, but here they're living in clusters, building dens from shells, evicting neighbours, squabbling, flirting, even forming what looks like a real social structure. Think underwater soap opera, but with eight arms and a lot of ink.
Researchers even think this could hint at social learning and maybe the roots of culture. Yes, culture… among octopuses.
Nature just keeps proving how much we don’t know. 🐚🌊
