Stitch in time!

In Orlando, Florida, a 10-year-old girl named Juliana Ossa survived an alligator attack in a way that sounds almost unbelievable. While wading in shallow water, she was suddenly grabbed by a nearly 9-foot alligator. The animal bit down on her leg and began to pull her, even attempting a death roll. Instead of freezing, Juliana fought back. She remembered something she had learned, that an alligator’s nostrils are one of its most sensitive areas. In the middle of the attack, she forced her fingers into the animal’s nose. The alligator released her. She survived and was treated for her injuries, and her quick thinking under pressure is what likely saved her life. A reminder that sometimes the smallest piece of knowledge, remembered at the right moment, can make all the difference.
