A jump from Empire Building!

In 1979, a woman named Elvita Adams attempted to jump from the 86th-floor observation deck of the Empire State Building in New York. In an incredibly rare twist of events, a strong gust of wind reportedly pushed her sideways instead of letting her fall straight down. She ended up crashing through a window on the 85th floor and survived with a broken hip. The Empire State Building is known for powerful wind currents around its upper levels because of its extreme height and design. In Adams’ case, those winds may have saved her life in what many people consider one of the luckiest survival stories ever recorded. After the incident, she was taken to the hospital and recovered from her injuries.
