Using Flower waste of Ganga river!

Ankit Agarwal transformed temple flower waste from the Ganga into a fast-growing eco-friendly business that is now worth around ₹50 crore. Through his startup Phool.co, discarded flowers are recycled into charcoal-free incense sticks and sustainable bio-leather products using innovative flowercycling technology. Founded in 2017 with support from IIT-Kanpur, the company focuses on reducing river pollution while also creating jobs for women in rural communities. Today, Phool.co exports its products to nearly 90 countries and has earned recognition through several international sustainability awards. Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt also invested in the startup after being inspired by its mission of cleaning rivers, supporting women, and promoting cruelty-free alternatives to leather. The journey of Phool.co shows how one creative idea can turn waste into opportunity while creating environmental and social impact together.
