Aging organs!
In our Latin culture, dinner is sacred and often late.
Waiting for the husband to arrive, for the novel to be finished or we just have a heavy dinner at 9 or 10 pm. But your pancreas have a closing schedule, and raping it is costing you years of life.⏳🍽️
The Circadian Rhythm of Metabolism: Your body does not process food the same at 12 in the day as it is at 10 in the night. Longevity scientists have discovered that insulin sensitivity decreases dramatically when the sun goes down. This means that the same plate of rice with meat that gives you energy at noon, at 10 PM almost immediately turns into visceral fat and inflammation.
The Hormone Crash: When you eat late, you force your body to release insulin to lower sugar. But at the same time, your brain is trying to release melatonin to sleep. Insulin and Melatonin are antagonic hormones; they don't like to work together. Result:
Your deep sleep shatters (you don't repair tissue).
Your glucose wakes up high (prediabetes).
Your mitochondria does not go into "clean" mode (autophagy).
Eating Early Is Anti-Aging: Recent studies suggest that leaving a window of at least 3 to 4 hours between your last meal and bedtime is one of the most powerful strategies for longevity. Allow your energy to be used during the night to repair damaged DNA rather than digesting tacos.
The Realist Solution: You Don't Have To Skip Family Dining. Just put the clock ahead. If you can have dinner at 7:00 PM instead of 9:30 PM, you're gifting your body 2.5 hours of cellular regeneration every night. Multiply that by 365 days and you will see the difference in your skin and energy.
VITALIZE TIP: If you get hungry before bed, drink chamomile tea or a small serving of healthy fat (like 5 almonds). Avoid carbs or fruits at night so you don't wake up your pancreas.
