Respect. 🫡 Young doctor Dr. Prabhleen Kaur reportedly resigned on her very first day at a private hospital after she was allegedly pressured to admit patients unnecessarily and keep some patients in the ICU longer than she felt was medically required. While the allegations should be properly investigated, her decision to walk away rather than compromise her professional ethics deserves appreciation. Medicine should always put patients before profit, treatment before targets, and care before billing. Choosing conscience over a well-paying job takes courage. Her stand is a reminder that a doctor’s first responsibility should always be towards the patient and their well-being.
