Caring daughter!
A devoted father finally arranged his daughter's engagement. Because the groom came from an exceptional and respected family, the father's heart swelled with joy. Both the young man and his parents possessed such a warm, gentle nature that a monumental burden seemed to lift from the father’s shoulders.
A few weeks before the wedding, the groom's family invited the father over for lunch. Though he was feeling quite unwell that day, he couldn't bring himself to decline their kind invitation. When he arrived, they welcomed him with the utmost respect and hospitality. Soon after, a warm cup of tea was placed before him.
Because of his severe diabetes, the father had been strictly ordered by doctors to stay away from sugar. However, sitting in the home of his daughter's future in-laws, he chose to remain silent rather than cause an inconvenience, politely accepting the cup.
But as he took his first sip, he stopped in surprise. The tea was entirely sugar-free, perfectly infused with a hint of cardamom—exactly the way he liked it. He quietly wondered if his hosts simply shared his unique taste.
Later, lunch was served, and it felt remarkably like a home-cooked meal from his own kitchen. When he grew tired in the afternoon, they anticipated his need, providing two soft pillows and a light sheet for a nap. The moment he woke up, he was handed a refreshing glass of fennel-infused water.
Unable to contain his curiosity any longer as he prepared to leave, the father finally asked, "How is it that you know exactly what I should eat, what I should drink, and what is best for my health?"
The mother-in-law smiled gently and replied, "Your daughter called us late last night. She told us, 'My papa is incredibly simple and modest. He will never ask for anything or complain. Please, if you can, take extra care of him.'"
Tears immediately welled up in the father's eyes.
When he returned to his own house, he walked straight into the living room, stood before the framed photograph of his late mother, and gently removed the memorial garland from it.
Witnessing this, his puzzled wife asked, "What are you doing?"
The father smiled through his tears and replied, "The mother who always watched over me has never truly left this house. She has simply been living among us all this time, in the form of our daughter."
