Inflatable dome for an entire construction site!
In the city of Jinan, China, a huge inflatable dome has been built over an entire construction site to make building work cleaner and quieter for nearby people.
This giant white "bubble" stands about 50 meters (around 164 feet) tall and covers roughly 20,000 square meters (about the size of three football fields). It's made from strong, lightweight, see-through material (like a special plastic fabric) that's kept inflated by big fans.
The dome traps dust, dirt, and noise inside so they don't spread to homes, schools, or streets around the site. It can block up to 90% of fine dust particles and cut construction noise by about 80% (or around 40 decibels in some reports).
It also has air filters, negative pressure systems (to keep air flowing inward), and sprinklers to control any remaining dust.
Because the material lets natural sunlight through, workers inside get good daylight without needing lots of electric lights.
The dome even protects against rain, wind, and snow, so construction can keep going in bad weather.
Once the building project finishes, the dome can be deflated, taken down, and moved to the next site—making it reusable and flexible.
This smart idea (used on the Honglou 1905 urban renewal project) helps cities grow without bothering residents with constant loud noises or dirty air.
It's becoming more common in China as a way to balance fast development with better living conditions for everyone nearby.
