For a plate of food!

It's funny how a farmer spends countless hours preparing the land, from plowing to planting. Spend thousands of dollars on fuel, equipment, and repair bills. He spends many hours praying for rain or sunshine instead of sleeping. Sweat like no other job will. Work like most people wouldn't. People trapped behind the tractor traveling down the road yell at him and insult him, and he spends many times a day wondering if it's worth it. Deer, coyotes, pigs, raccoons, gophers and grasshoppers are just a few of the pests to deal with!! He does all this for what??? Ask yourself, “Why would I do that?” The answers are around you. The plate of food in front of you, the clothes you are wearing, the shoes on your feet and the last answer is the one that baffles most people. It's the dust, the love of farming, and the satisfaction of knowing that at the end of the day you've done your part! I would like to thank all the farmers who help make the world go round!
