Long Nails or Short Nails?

Long fingernails provide more space under the nail plate where bacteria, including fecal coliforms from improper handwashing after bathroom use, can accumulate and survive even after regular washing. Studies show that longer nails harbor significantly more microorganisms than short ones, increasing the risk of spreading germs to food, surfaces, or others through everyday contact. Health experts strongly recommend keeping nails short and thoroughly cleaning underneath for better hygiene.
