Breathing Hill!

Rising from the landscape of Florence, Italy, the Appennine Colossus looks like a giant emerging straight from the mountain itself. Built more than 420 years ago, this incredible sculpture is half man, half mountain—and completely unforgettable. 🇮🇹 ⛰️ Standing about 35 feet tall above the water below, the giant was created with a brick core covered in carved stone, giving the illusion that he is part of the surrounding earth. 🔥 But the most amazing detail is hidden inside. Behind the giant’s head is a secret chamber complete with a fireplace. When lit, smoke once drifted out through the Colossus’s nostrils, making it appear as though the giant was breathing. 😮 ✨ Part sculpture, part architecture, and part fantasy, the Appennine Colossus remains one of the most magical and mysterious creations of the Renaissance.
