Turning sewage water into clean water!
Every day, millions of litres of sewage flow through our cities.
What if that wastewater could become clean water again, without chemicals?
That’s what Bengaluru-based startup Openwater.ai, a spin-off from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), is making possible.
Their compact plug-and-play treatment systems use controlled electric fields to pull pollutants out of sewage and greywater, cleaning it without chemicals or complex filters.
The units can treat 250 to 50,000 litres of wastewater a day and can be installed in just one day.
Already being used in hospitals, residential complexes, and communities, the system helps recycle water for reuse, reducing pressure on freshwater sources.
In a country where water scarcity affects millions, could technologies like this turn wastewater into one of India’s biggest water solutions?
