Digital Technology effect!
Neuroscientist reveals that Gen Z becomes the first generation in history to be less intelligent than their parents due to over-reliance on digital technology. According to neuroscientist Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath, Generation Z is the first on record to show lower average intelligence than their parents.
This trend breaks the long-standing pattern known as the Flynn effect, where IQ scores historically increased across generations. Gen Z has shown declines in reading comprehension, sustained attention, mathematical reasoning, and memory performance.
Horvath attributes this decline to over-reliance on digital technology, especially in educational settings. He argues that the human brain is not designed to absorb information from short online clips or fragmented digital content, which has impaired Gen Z’s cognitive development.
